EV3 robot does not move as expected
Using the TrashTrek mat, I tried to move the robot forward (straight) using the default 'Steering' block with speed preset to 50% with braking. I was expecting the wheels to turn 360, 720, 1080 and 1440 degrees for duration settings of 1, 2, 3 and 4 rotations respectively. But what I got instead is the results below based on the real time data as well as visual inspection of the wheels.
Settings Expected (deg) Results (degrees)
1 rotation 360 395 (360+35)
2 rotations 720 395 (360+35)
3 rotations 1080 755 (720+35)
4 rotations 1440 1155 (1080+35)
The results suggests that
a) for 1 rotation setting, the wheels rotate 395 deg which is 35 degrees more than it should.
b) for 2 rotation setting, the wheels rotate the same distance as 1 rotation setting above.
c) for 3 rotation setting, the wheels rotate 755 deg, which is 720+35 deg which suggest the wheel rotates 2 full rotation plus the error of 35 deg.
d) for 4 rotation setting, the wheels rotate 1155 deg which is 1080+35 which suggest the wheel rotates 3 full rotation plus the error of 35 deg.
It seems that the robot travels 1 rotation less than expected plus an error of 35 degrees with speed set to 50%.
Does everyone else see the same problem?
I am using v2.7.12346.0 trial

I am glad to hear this issue will be fixed in the next update. Do you have a time frame when this update maybe available? If the simulated behavior of simple movement is close to actual, I would like to purchase a team license for the class.

Since my current copy of the trial will expire before the next release, will it be possible for me to trial the next release before the purchase?

The next version of the Virtual Robotics Toolkit is going to coincide with the upcoming release of the 2016 WRO challenge mats.
Which is likely to be in late July.
